Q. Can I join as a real wrestler?
A. When GEW first opened, it was primarily a real wrestler only fed, which is why you will many "familiar" names in our archives. Through the years we slowly adapted to the "change in the times" and more and more people began creating their own character. The appeal to take on a real wrestler gradually died out and as it stands now, GEW is only accepting applications from original characters.
Q. How long has GEW been open?
A. Though our archives only have results dating back to early 2005, GEW opened in 2001. Originally we were hosted on MSN groups before making the change to boards2go. Unfortunately, we no longer have access to those sites and the history predating January 19th, 2005 cannot be recovered.
Q. What does GEW offer that other feds don't?
A. GEW offers a lot of creative freedom to its writers and we will never tell you what you can and can't do with your character. Nothing is off-limits in roleplays and it's a pretty "no holds barred" environment. However, if your writing contains content that could be considered mature or offensive, we ask that you post a disclaimer to forewarn the readers.
On top of the creative freedom offered, GEW has dedicated staff and members, with the boards always a friendly atmosphere. GEW is more like a family than an efed, as cliché as that sounds. We all enjoy having a laugh and welcoming new members...we guarantee you will feel at home in no time.
The members of GEW have a lot of experience combined and are always on hand to help if you are struggling with creative ideas or are looking for a storyline; this goes for staff members and regular roster members alike.
The Character Development, Continuous, Locker Room and R&R forums are places where you can go to roleplay whenever you see fit. There is no limit on roleplays here, all that is asked is that you stay in character and treat it as though it is your character living out their day to day life in real time.
Q. What are the roleplay limits and rules?
A. For the weekly Chaos shows, you may post a maximum of two roleplays. Only one roleplay will be accepted within the last twenty-four hours leading up to the deadline to avoid sandbagging. The same rule applies for our pay-per-views, with the only exception being the roleplay limit, which is four.
Q. How are results decided and written?
A. GEW has a dedicated team of staff who have access to the private staff forums. Once deadline hits, a poll is put up for each match for the staff to vote on who wins. Staff members are required to give reasons as to WHY they are voting that particular person to ensure results are fair.
We write our results in full and unless there is a major emergency (eg. staff losing computer access) results will never be summarised. We feel that it is only fair to return the effort put in by the members. If people are spending hours writing roleplays, it's unfair to just give them ten lines of summary.
Q. What do I do if I don't agree with results?
A. If you think the staff has made a mistake and you don't agree with the outcome of your match, PM a staff member and outline why. Don't make a big deal about it on the public forum because drama solves nothing. If necessary, Leese or Sam will contact you and let you know why and how the decision was made (including showing you the reasons staff gave while voting if you wish).
Q. What happens if I no-show?
A. GEW operates a "three strike" policy. If you no-show a match without giving prior notice or without having a legitimate excuse, you will not be booked on the next show. After missing one week, you will be booked again unless you require a leave of absence.
If you no-show a second time within a three month period, you will not be booked again until you have posted a character development roleplay.
If you no-show a third time within a three month period, your contract will be terminated and you will be removed from the roster.
After three months, the system resets.
Be warned that if a new character no-shows both of his or her first two matches without any explanation or request for LOA, the staff will consider that character a time-waster and delete the account.
Q. I posted my application, why am I not on the roster on the website?
A. Since the roster page on the website is made up of banners of the characters, we need to make sure you will be sticking around. We don't want to waste our time making graphics for flakes/time-wasters so we require you to post at least two roleplays before you are added to the roster page.
Q. I've been belittled by somebody on the boards with the username The Eli Keaton, what should I do?
A. Suck it up princess, Eli is our resident cunt.
